Electric Vehicle public charging network is growing each day, these public networks are also know by the term Rapid Charging, this is great for a quick boost when doing longer journeys, these are best identified as they have a tethered cable and have a capacity ranging from 50kW to in excess of 350kW. Companies such as Gridserve, BP Pulse, Shell Recharge and Instavolt are constantly developing new multiple charge stations, most of these with Ultra Rapid charge capabilities, with an average 75kwh car/van taking circa 20 minutes to achieve 80% charge.
As of August 2023, there are currently 9,015 rapid and ultra rapid charging devices across 4,752 locations in the UK.
In the last month there were 243 new charging devices fitted and registered on zapmap UK.
